Intern Spotlight: Cameron Grabenstein

Jul 10, 2025

Meet Cameron Grabenstein, our agronomy operations intern this summer in Raymond, Nebraska.

Cameron is from Lincoln, Nebraska, and is attending the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, majoring in Agronomy. He anticipates graduating in December 2025.

Why did you choose to intern at Farmers Cooperative?
I’ve been around the Cooperative and have always seen coop trucks around. I thought it would be great to learn about the different parts of agriculture.

Why did you choose this specific internship?
The operations role seemed like the best starting point for understanding the basics of the cooperative industry.

What has been the best part of your internship so far?
My favorite part so far is that the people I work with are very knowledgeable and are willing to answer any questions I have about the cooperative industry and my projects.

What are you most excited about with your internship?
I’m looking forward to getting to experience the chemical side of agronomy while also interacting with customers and learn about their operations.

What are the day-to-day tasks in your role?
My daily tasks include filling chemical totes, loading spray tenders, and helping customers when they come in for products.

What is your summer internship project?
I am monitoring the growth of palmer amaranth and water hemp in our test plot and observing how different herbicides affect them.

What are your plans for after graduation?
I’m not one hundred percent sure about what I want to do after graduation, but I think I would like to continue working in agriculture.

Fun fact?
I’m a big fan of any kind of spicy food.

We’re glad to have Cameron on board this summer and look forward to seeing the contributions he makes during his internship!
